Abstract

Purpose : The success of modern business organizations depends on the trained, highly skilled, committed, and performing employees. The present study focused on the importance of training for employee performance in the insurance industry, explored the training programs prevailing in the insurance industry in India and assessed the impact of training on employee performance in the insurance industry.

Methodology : An exploratory research design was adopted, which involved a review of the existing literature of different conceptual papers and empirical studies on the relationships between training and employee performance. A descriptive research design was used to report the training programs prevailing in the insurance industry in India by going through the official websites of insurance companies. Secondary data was collected from various journals and websites on the impact of training on employee performance in the insurance industry.

Findings : The study revealed the positive impact of training practices on the employee performance of the insurance companies in terms of increased employee productivity, employee engagement, employee retention, and organizational success.

Practical Implications : The study provided deep insights that insurance companies may utilize to enhance their training initiatives, leading to sustainable high performance in this dynamic industry.

Originality : The study emphasized the vital role that staff training plays in ensuring employee and organizational productivity, technological advancement, and industry compliance, based on a review of empirical studies.
